When we were traveling in our RV we stayed in Bardsville Ky which, I discovered, is the heart of Ky Bourbon country. We visited the Maker's Mark distillery and I was amazed at how small it was to be as well known. It was like a Mom and Pop company out in the middle of the country. We went out on the production line and I got to dip my own bottle in the hot wax sealer. Neat place to see.
LOL when I saw the title to this post, I was thinking about how much corn we saw growing when we traveled through Ohio this summer. I thought that was where this post was headed until I saw the picture. I think this is a much better use of corn than for ethanol.
I can recall visiting the Jack Daniel's distillery when in Tennessee years ago. Very cool and interesting. Thanks for sharing. Have often wondered if the Maker's Mark whisky is worth the price? I may have to treat myself to a bottle for a special occasion. Our corn season is winding down here. Had temperatures in the low 30's last night and dust is constantly flying from the harvest. Lack of crops expose our flat land and allows the wind to pound us. Entering the 4th season in the midwest is definitely refreshing.
My favorite.
I worked in Elizabethtown Ky.(nearby) a bit and always wanted to go on the tour, but we always worked past their tour hours. Next trip to Florida I plan on stopping in.
