Anyone fished the lake lately? Thinking about trying it Tuesday

I've tried it all summer and have just about given up. I know the lake very well and caught fish all through the summer and fall last year but this year is very different. I've tried several times and might catch one or two fish and this is supposed to be my home lake. I've been having to travel to Millwood 2 hours away to catch fish. I'm either going to Bistineau, D'Arbone, or the Ouachita river tomorrow

It was a tough bite for me all of this summer as well. I haven't been on Erling in at least a month or more now. But I did hear of someone catching some under a bridge on the lake on minnows the other day.

I went the end of August or around the first sept. Caught 20 one day an 17 the next. But haven't been back since. It took a better part the day both days to do that.

That ain't too bad on some lakes if they are good ones . Never fished it myself . Some reason fishing is slower here last few days . Good luck

All good fish just made for some long days

Last year a guy told me that during the first week of gun deer season he had the lake almost all to himself and caught 2 limits of nearly 2lb crappie. Said it was the best fishing he'd ever had. Sounds like it to me. I'll be in Kansas at that time this year but somebody needs to be puttin a woopin on em then.

Yep sounds about right. Hope to be there soon.
