I read somewhere that the different between the old switch and new switch (TS3) is the old switch left the transducers powered all the time (both). Other than that the old system would have a higher draw on your battery is there any advantage replacing mine with the newer one?

The old TS2 switch had the relay actuated with 12v power in both positions = dead battery ...
The new TS3 switch has the relay actuated with 12v power in only 1 position (the second position is "line thru" which allows the sonar data to pass thru that leg with no 12v power needed to actuate the relay) ...
You can actually connect the "line thru" leg of the TS3 (with not even connecting the 12v power) and that leg of sonar data will still work ...

I have a TS2 (I think, can't find order) but switch is 4-5 years old and has the old style toggle switch not the rocker type. It has one cable out to unit and a cable out for each xducer. I have never had any battery problems but normally I fish at least once every two weeks.
So are you saying that both my xducers are powered even with the FF turned "off" ? or both powered with unit turned "on". I can always check for current draw with the FF "off" at my battery. I assume that the old switch would not cause both xducers to be pinging at the same time? Tx
The TS2 (and TS3) switch does not "power" the xducers in any way ...(if the head unit is off - the xducers are not pinging) ...
The 12v power source only energizes the relay actuator that allows sonar data to flow down one of the 2 legs going to the xducers ...
The relay and actuator are in the epoxy filled pod looking thing at the "Y" of the xducer cables ... It's kinda like a railroad track actuator ...where the actuator simply directs which xducer cable the sonar data is to pass thru ... But it takes 12v power for the relay to move the actuator into position 1 or position 2 ...
The TS2 (old design) has the relay (in the epoxy filled pod) energized constantly ...regardless of which way the toggle is selected ...
The TS3 (new design) has the relay (in the epoxy filled pod) energized in only one of the toggle positions ...

I got turned left with all the battery problems, etc. , etc. The only toggles I have worked with have always been mechanical.
Here's a test to determine which switch you have (TS2 or TS3) ...
(Do this test on the water to allow actual sonar data) ...
*Disconnect the 12v power wire to the TS switch ...
*Disconnect both xducers from the TS xducer cables ...
*Power on the HB head unit (showing any sonar screen) ...
*Connect xducer to the TS leg 1 (then disconnect xducer) ...
*Connect xducer to the TS leg 2 (then disconnect xducer) ...
Results:
*If the HB sonar screen shows sonar on either TS xducer leg = this is the TS3 ... Because the TS3 only requires 12v power to connect 1 of the 2 xducer legs ...
*If the HB sonar screen does not show sonar on either TS xducer leg = this is the TS2 ... Because the TS2 requires 12v power to connect each of the 2 xducer legs ...
