Need some help with an investment decision. Looking at rods for tight linning any opinions on what the best rod is . Been looking at the southern crappie pro rods. Possibly 14 ft rods rods. Any advice on brand and length would be appreciated thanks.

Cuz and I use Bass Pro Shop Signature Series 14 footers for pushing and Their Tightline Series for trolling.
I use and sell the BnM PST, Crappie Max tightline and Universal series. The tightline is the stiffest, 1 oz of lead does not even bend this pole. I like the BnM PST with 3/4 oz of lead. The PST is also suitable for long lining or pulling. I believe the BnM PST is the most suitable for all uses.

I use crappie max signatures for longlining and tight lines for pushing heavier weights.

fireman,
You are already on the right track.... SCR's are the only type we use I have 16' and 14' we use them both for trolling and tightlining, their a little softer on the tip but I've never Broke one and I've been using them for almost 7 yrs (the same rods). Not to mention Ed Dukes is a class act and will stand behind his rods.
MY 2 Cents:
Does not matter. Buy what is on sale for tightlining. Need light tip and flor color helps, especially at night.

Southern crappie rods are an excellent choice I have about 20 of them. Plus they are a little cheaper.
You don't have to buy expensive rods for trolling. Get the length you need at the cheapest price. I like my trolling rods to be lively so it gives the jigs lots of movement with the waves and movement of the boat. To me a stiff rod is going to catch less fish because the jig does not move up and down. You need to use long rods to get the jigs away from the boat. With pushing you need to spend some money to get quality rods with some back bone for the heavy weights you will be using. Good luck and have fun. Wes
Have fished about 20 different rods and like the Southern Crappie Rods the best so far for pushin minners.
