Minn Kota Question
I have a Minn Kota PD V2 and when I go to release it to put in the water it's hard to push it down to do so. The release is not the problem it comes right up. It's when I grab the shaft to release it in the water it acts like it is stuck. It took about 10 min yesterday. Thanks for the help.

Try some WD-40 on the shaft and see if that will fix the problem.
I wipe my unit down with it two or three times a year to keep it sliding right.

I've had about the same problem. Best thing I've found is when you release the latch, push the control head down, toward the floor of the boat.
-
Thanks I will try them both.

Mark you need to put some grease one the area where it locks down.
-
Thanks Don I'll will try it.

Armorall or white lithium grease on the shaft. Be sure to always secure the troller and never depend on the latch to keep it secured. After a while they will jump up and break your electric motor housing. I have already replaced two.
