Some help

One of the guys on the Alabama boards said I should ask you guys about crappie on Wheeler. I am going down there for a few days catfishing and was wondering If the crappie fishing was any good on the lake too. I am thinking about taking a day to crappie fish and change the pace a little. If you guys know anything about the lake's crappie I would appreciate it. Bo

I don't know why Alabama board members would send you to Mississippi to ask about one of their lakes.

I didn't either but I thought they might know something I didn't, which is pretty easy. I fish Mississippi every year[would move there if my wife would go] for crappie. I will be fishing mostly for cats with some guys but thought I might take a break from that and try some crappie fishing. :fish

When the kids were small we would go to Mallard Point rec area at Decatur, AL. Spend a day at their water park. Some day trips had us cross Wheeler lake headed north to Huntsville or other points. We would see bass rigs mostly, a few crappie rigs on the water.

Some of the guys who fish Pickwick may also fish Wheeler, and may be able to give some advice. Other than that I do not know, as most on here are fishing the Big 4, Ross Barnett, or Miss'ippi River oxbows
