Humminbird - Minn Kota iPilot link question...
So I have had my 859 di unit since I got the iPilot link Minn-Kota back in the spring. But that was all my money spent and I am just now getting around to getting a lake map card to take advantage of the countour follow stuff that is offered. A few weeks back I started doing an upgrade on all of them (the depth finder, iPilot part, and the remote). The first one went find, but when I tried to the iPilot (following the instructions) the depth find can't find it.
I contacted Hummingbird who sent me to Minn-Kota. They said someone would be in touch with a day or two. I called back the following week and I was told the guy who especially handles this kind of situation would be in touch with me by the following day. As noted above, a few weeks have passed and I have heard nothing still.
Questions:
1) Anyone else have similar experience with their stuff with doing an upgrade? How did you get past it?
2) Anyone else have similar experience with Minn-Kota? The Hummingbird side of the shop has been great in the past but the Minn-Kota folks seem to not be good about following through?
3) Am I correct in my assessment that the follow the contour stuff will not work if the depth finder is not seeing the the iPilot stuff?
