First Fishing Trip in a Coon's Age
Bonnie and I got up early this morning and went to Darbonne Bayou. Took us a little while to figure out which tops held fish and where on the tops the fish were. We only ended the day with eight in the cooler, but lost several good ones at the boat and I can't begin to tell you how many hung us up and got off the line. I will be a little more ready for those rascals next time. This was the first time she had ever fished tops. She has only been back fishing for a couple of years. She took a small vacation from fishing. About a 26 year vacation. She has only really fished the channel on Darbonne. She doesn't know anything about fishing the bayou and especially tree tops. I spent a lot of time getting her jig unhung. Also broke the tip section on one of my 10 ft. jig poles. Can't get one like that any more. Have to actually buy an 11 ft tip section, but I like the way it feels in my hand so will buy another tip soon as I get to the tackle store. They aren't a box full but here they are.
