The BGs are staging for another spawn - males are moving into the shallows. Deeper bite has dropped off and don't have the time to search for the big girls. Major break with the weather today - stayed cool most of the morning.

What is the light colored band across the top of the head of these fish? What is the forage base for these fish?

helthnspector - the band is high lighted scales, characteristic of the Coppernose sup species of the Bluegill. Probably should be called the Copperhead Bluegill. The ones that were stocked in LP came from Florida.
LP fish have a lot of food to eat, all year long. Numerous bug hatches, shad & smelt baitfish, and clams & snails. Have heard rumors they have found the Quagga mussel now...
