fisherman...anybody fish acton in the last week or two..kids r in school and the wife and I need some time together on the lake...no need to tell hot spots..just wanting to know if they r hitting...keeper or not..just wanting some action with jigs or minnows

My wife and I spider rigged the East coast last Sat 4:00pm till around dark, dbl minnow rigs 8ft to 12ft in 14fow caught 53 or so, wife missed about that many too, 9 keepers is what i had to show, Crappie are looking skinny. I saw another couple long lining for them, which is a first at that lake for Me.

I've always done pretty good with long lining for Crappie.
You won't catch as many but they are usually larger.
I use both jigs and Bandit Crankbaits - cruising at .50 to 2 mph.
Jost toss the lure out behind the boat as far as you can while running
then pull out a couple of more arm lengths. then wait for the tap.
Sometimes I will also catch a large cat or Saugeye.

I've had success ( the handful of times I've been there to crappie fish ) long lining or pulling cranks ...... Went in the spring once and did well throwing jig and bobber on the bank between the docks and the beach
