old school

i bought this at a garage sale for 2 bits (25 cents for you young'uns). anyone know if i could turn these into jig heads??

Sounds like a bargain! I've seen some people post on here about making their own weights from various lead items. I guess you'd just need a mold and a pot to melt in.... And if that's the case, seems just another step for a jig head!

That was a real good buy. I don't see why not it is lead. Melt it back down and pour what you want.:twocents

Doc, give it a try. I was given some last year and found when melting it was real dirty. Fluxed it a couple of times and was able to clean it up pretty good. It poured real well. I would melt and flux in a separate pot not in your pouring pot.

We love garage sales also.....

Prob could sell it to a reloading guy and buy a good amount of jigs/lead.
