Hey yáll, we're thinking about heading up next weekend, Aug. 15. We've never been there, so any advice on areas to try or danger spots to avoid as well as a good place to stay would be appreciated.

Most visiting fishermen stay at Laketree Motel. Water is HOT, so fish are deep right now. The coming week is supposed to be cooler, so that will help. No particular danger spots, cause the lake is at full pool. Good luck!

Water was 88-91 when I was there the other weekend. We found our fish in 10-18ft of water on the main lake for the most part. Be patient and dont expect to catch a ton from one spot. A few here, a few there. Keep moving!
