For All The Gardeners......."Molokhiya"

I had never heard of a leafy green called "Egyptian Spinach" until a few weeks ago.....my wife's son is growing it in his garden.....we boiled some and I was pleasantly surprised....it had the texture of cooked turnip greens and did not taste like regular spinach....but, it was pretty good...especially with corn bread, iced tea, sliced white onion and black eye peas....he even stir fried some and loved it that way.....

So, I thought some of you gardeners might be interested....here are some links my wife found for me....

Bruce that sounds interesting. Is it as slimy as okra, I don't mind the slime. It even has some pods like okra.

not slimy.....the green leaves cook down (with bacon of course) with a texture like turnip greens.....the pods are just seeds good for planting....

only way I eat okra is fried.....don't like the slimy stuff.......not even in gumbo.....

I like okra stewed with tomatoes, fried and in gumbos. I also like cabbage,spinach broccoli and cauliflower. But no greens or brussel sprouts.
