LOZ - Crankin' last Wednesday through Friday
My daughter and her boyfriend (future son-in-law I suspect) drove over from Indianapolis last week. He is a fisherman so I was anxious to take him out and introduce him to some summertime trolling since he had never experienced it before. Over short periods of three days we caught a nice mixture of whites trolling flats/humps in the main lake and crappie in a cove off the main lake in the mid-lake area. I had several crappie over the 13 inch limit that we picked up in the middle of the afternoon while dodging the recreational boaters. Bandit 300s pulled from 50-90 feet back, Awesome Pink was one of the best colors this outing. Oh, I had a few blue cats that we caught as well, but nothing big - just eating size. Water temp was in the low 80s and my trolling speed was 1.5-1.9. The water was a little murky with the recent rains, but not to much debris in the water. Should clear up nice in the next week or so.
