I read a trick one time for getting your trailer back up on the ramp if you back off and it is stuck on the drop off. It only works in a specific situation so you be the judge as to whether it would work for you.
What you do is run your winch strap all the way out and under the roller at the end of the trailer.(yes you have to get wet to do this) Then run it up and hook it to the bow eye on your boat. This assumes you can get your boat that close and the bow eye is well above the roller. Then crank the winch to lift the trailer tires above the drop off. Then slowly drive your car forward until the wheels are on the ramp. Then unhook the strap and load as usual.
I am not sure my winch strap is long enough to do this, but you could tie a rope to the end of it and accomplish the same thing.
Thankfully I have never had to do this, but it is a good trick to have in your pocket should you ever need it.
