Crooked Creeking With Some Coworkers
We are up in North Arkansas again, assisting the Trout Program with some brown trout fingerling marking. This type of work can not be properly done without a fishing pole in the back of the truck. After work, we waded a 3 mile stretch around the Fred Berry Education Center. The brownies were favoring minnow imitations over crayfish baits. Unfortunately i only packed crayfish baits. Matt Horton on the other hand gave a clinic on fishing small grubs. He caught the most (by far) and the largest. I learned a valuable lesson. I kept getting strikes but I was coming up empty. I finally checked my craw bug and my hook was broken off at the bend!

Tomorrow after work, I will swallow my pride and use some salt and pepper triple ripples. Hopefully I will redeem myself!

Do you over stock Little Red River at Leslie, Arkansas.
We do not stock the Little Red River at Leslie. Open systems (rivers, creeks) are difficult to improve with stocking. I wish that this drainage was as productive as Crooked Creek or the Buffalo. Then I wouldn't have to drive so far!
