Reelfoot update for crappie?

I am from N.KY and my brother, dad, and I ventured down there for the 1st time this past spring. Early April. We did not do well at all. Saw some lake veterans trolling in the lower basin and catching some but not that many... So, disappointing trip in terms of crappie fishing. I've checked the TN forums and the consensus seems to be that Reelfoot had a rough spring for crappie.

So, was just curious whether that's still the case since I see very little about the lake. Though I know summer's not prime crappie time, surely (in good years) spider riggers catch nice crappie in the deeper sections of that lake. Has anyone been catching any in June-July?

I fished it 2 days in June. I haven't been back. I normally fish on Reelfoot until late June every year.
The days I fished, I caught 3 the first day, 4 the second day.
My personal opinion is that the lake is in a down cycle. It will come back. Maybe a couple of years.

A buddy of mine's son has been goin in the evenings and doin ok for this time of year, not big numbers but quality fish. So I decided to go yesterday before the storm should of waited til after I only got to fish a couple hours and caught three crappie and a cat then the bottom fell out. They prolly would have bit better after the storm as one of his days was after a rain storm and he brought home ten all over a pound and a half. Water temp was 92.5 and the problem with that is the minnows only stayed alive a couple minutes after hitting the hot water. the fish I caught were in twelve feet of water fishing eight feet down and on a fresh minnow...
