Hit CCL right off the bat this morning. At 0700 I was boat 4 on the lake. Sucked. Caught a few small mouth and a beast of a drum that hit a jigging spoon. Tried to find crappie for an hour but no dice. I am kind of getting bored/frustrated boat fishing. Thinking about selling my boat to buy a tractor.
What do you suppose these are?

I don't do well there either. Prolly looking at some rough fish that deep. Sounds like you need a 'Big Hill' fix. :biggrin <*)}}}><
With our schedules most of my trips are a few hours at a time on short notice. CCL and Melvern are so close I can wake up early fish and be home before the kids get back from church.
Usually I start off chasing crappie and get frustrated. Then I fall back to my old standby of smallmouth or white bass. Couldn't even get on the whites today. With the water like glass early I was hoping for a top water bite.

I have no place nearby to get them since the bait shop in new Strawn closed. I tried throw netting shad yesterday but they were too small
