going camping this weekend with my sunday school class at lake chicot state park. we want to do some fishing with the kids. need some ideas and places to go. going to have some noodle rigs and wouldnt mind doing a little crappie or bream fishing too.
Catfish are good behind the cabins at the state park if thats where your staying. Your guess is as good as mine for crappie but I would start on the lower end and go from there.
better bring mosquito spray!
Try baiting a spot for Catfish , hear it is loaded with Channels .
Anywhere along the bank with cover you should be able to catch a mess of bream. I've had real good luck across the lake from the park behind the levee. If you going to fish for catfish bring all your coolers, you'll catch a million. Best of luck.
Got a friend there now catching plenty of catfish on set lines .
Ok. We gonna set a few and some noodles. Using dough baits shiners or livers.
