I built alot of cover like that in SC...turned out to be a good learning experience.
When we did the Projects here at our home lake, I learned what cover would last for a long time and was easier to build and sink, and still held different sizes of Crappie.
Pine slats degrade fast...oak doesn't last as long as you would think, due to the thin size...as I get older, I no longer want to replenish the same areas every couple years...I'm into making as many long lasting areas as possible...that way I always have a place to catch fish, in any condition.
The fasteners I use will be around a lot longer than I will if you know what I mean. LOLQuote:
