Lakes Cohoon/Meade
Late report from the long weekend. Hit Meade Friday, was the first boat on the water - not that it mattered. I tried all my usual areas to no avail. Fish from 2-16 FOW and only managed one keeper and one dink. I moved up to Cohoon later in the day and ended with 9 keepers, most about 11". I did get one fish there that was right at 14" and 1.5 lbs. Also caught a handful of dinks.
Decided to return to Cohoon Sunday morning. I was getting bit on a regular basis from 2-5 FOW, but the fish wouldn't take the jig. Changing colors didn't help much, nor did changing jig size. I finally stuck with an 1/8 jig with BGBS in Cajun Cricket and stopped fishing around noon with 14 keepers, all around the 11" mark. Had a few shorts, but as stated, the fish just weren't inhaling the bait.
On a side note, the fish did not seem to be schooled up well at all. I would generally change areas in Cohoon and immediately catch 2-3 fish, then it was over. No electronics, so I'm not certain if there were more fish present and just not biting, or if I was catching the only few in that area. However, that happened each time I changed locations.

I never have done very well in those lakes but it has been years since I tried.
