Motor sliding back and fourth inside TM Armature

I have a Minn Kota edge on my small boat, the motor is sliding back and fourth inside the armature about 1/2 inch causing the prop and prop shaft to stick out about the same distance and producing a large gap between the prop and armature, also grinds the prop when popped out, i can slap the prop and knock it back into place, but it eventually pops back out again about the time i hit my next stump. I took the motor apart every thing i could see was tight. I cant figure out what holds the motor secure inside the armature and why its sliding back and fourth. Any body know how to fix this?

Minn Kota Edge 55 lb thrust, I know its the Motor loose inside armature causing problem in Pic, Dont know how or what is needed to secure it to keep it from sliding back n fourth and causing the prop to stick out like in Pic. The long bolts which hold the motor head together and prop shaft are tight and don't appear to be part of the problem. The pic was taken with everything externally tightened down Thanks for any help.

Bad bearing or bad bearing housing. The bearing should be a press on the shaft then a pocket in the outer cover that it sits in should only have a few thousands end play. So for that shaft to move out that far either the bearing is coming apart or that end cover is worn through. Also you might check to see if there is a little snap ring behind the bearing that would be used as a stop. If there is one it could have gotten dislodged and let the bearing slide down the shaft.

Agree with cray. I would need to have it and take it apart for ya. I just rebuilt my terrova foot as it had bad seals and kept blowing my fuse in the head of the terrova. Not a bad fix about an hour or so but would have to order you parts once I took it apart.

You know me I learn everything I can lol from cranks baits to Tm lol.

Need serial number to look at parts diagram for ya too

Use super glue to put those parts together. :Rofl Good luck Russ, you can tell I don't know anything about them. Maybe you could find a parts schematic online that would show the pin they are talking about.
