Well I just copied it, but all my life we have called it Bayou Amie or pronounced it that way. Wish I had dollar for every case of beer we bought at the store when we were in our early 20's.
I'm having trouble figuring out this response. Can't find any reference to "Amy" on the UL Facebook page and what does the link to Sam Irwin page have to do with anything? Don't care much for Facebook myself. Sorry if I'm missing something obvious.Quote:

If the canal in question is the one by Pat's in Henderson, The Louisiana Dept of Wildlife refers to it as BAYOU AMY in it's report on the building of the new boat launch. Typed in Bayou Amy in a search engine an it is referred to as Bayou Amy many times. Merm, just trying to get it right, not looking for trouble. LOL

I went to that page and did a search for "Amy" or "Irwin" and can't find it there. Maybe it was deleted or one of my script blockers has it filtered out. Anyway thanks for explaining.Quote:
