This time of year, if you don't know where some brush piles are, it will be pretty rough. At least it would be for me. Good Luck
I'd try around the dock early in the morning or late afternoon. It's shady and holds fish.
deep water docks and brush piles needs to be about 17 to 20 feet deep
Fish any bridge pillings you can find really and late day. Some of the bridges have green lights for night fishing.
If you have a GPS with the Toledo map, go to the bends in the main San Miguel creek. There used to be houseboats tied up on most bends and they all had baited brush piles below them. Also, the pilings on the main bridge crossing the lake are fished a lot - usually the first few on the Texas side of the boat lane. Wildlife and Fisheries Dept has placed a lot of artificial reefs in the lake and you can Google that information and get the coordinates for them. There should be a couple in that area. Good luck.
Thanks for the tips. Had a good weekend up there got poored every day but keep trying maby next time I'll have better luck. Very nice place but gets rough fast up there. So I'll be sticking with what I know Henderson here I come
Haven't been in years. Are those houseboat all gone?? First time was about 75 and there was one nice one on a drop off. Water came up to 17 ft there was a ledge and came up to 14. First time I talked to them they had 165 slabs from the night before. We found a similar spot about 100 yds away and caught 48 the next night. Good by our standards. Also a later trip we fished under a bridge and watched Reuben Broadway catch 1 after another. He had the spot. Found out he was the cousin to the guy I was fishing with. He moved down to get a 4 pounder. Said he had caught lots of 3s but no 4s. Hope he got his 4 before he was called home.
