Popper

Is that head made of foam, rubber? Not a thing wrong with 'em eyes. Lookin' good.

Sort of. I cut a groove for the hook to lay in, laid down some thread, super glue to hook, and then filled groove with wood filler.

Just an FYI, most guys use Epoxy to use on the hook/groove area. Wood filler may work too, I don't know that.

Is there a cupped front on this popper? I ask because most poppers have a cup front. Maybe you have something new? Nice job!

Hi Skip.

I was was out of epoxy and didn't realize it until it was time to glue it up. Actually I had some, but the top of the cylinder had come off and it oozed out into the ziplock bag I had it in. Thanks to the bag it didn't make a mess! This one doesn't have a cupped front, but I probably should have. Those eyes gave me fits and by the time I was finished my fingers were covered in super glue. I still enjoyed making it, but I learned some things I will do differently on the next one

Nice fly look good.

I think it resembles a slider bug, and a very nice job. Works well on the quiet days when the fish are spooky and a popper is too loud. I hope you epoxy the paint on this one or the future ones, mine lost the paint on the second fish without the epoxy.
