I did some duck hunting there about 4 years ago and it was not a great place for duck hunting we killed a few but nothing that I would go out a get a camp on, if I was in the market. I also have fish it some and didn't do to well at that but i would bet you with the river all backed up into it now there could be some fish moving in
o but i can say there is some beautiful looking fishing spots out there on the lake let me see if I still have some of my old pictures and i will post them
here is a few pictures i took maybe it was a good fishing spot but I was not a good fisherman there is also one of my old duck blind
I have fished it for years good bream, crappie & bass fishing. Deer hunting around the area. The Red is not for away with good duck hunting and a great fishing. The problem is the lake is full of stumps and hard to navigate. Limits of crappie in the winter are not uncommon.
I fished the lake about 3 times in the past 30 years with very similar results. Caught just enough to keep you interested and you leave scratching your head about why such a beautiful piece of water would not be the perfect fishing spot for all species, most especially crappie! Good luck to you and just enjoy the beautiful view in the event the illusive slabs don't make their appearance!!! ~~ <*{{{{<<
