Sportbrella xl ?

What do you guy's do with the flaps that hang down on the xl sportbrella? Can't leave them down they serve no purpose correct?

They do on really hot days early in the morning. I took a short bungee and hooked em up on the top.

I take a short bungee and attach to cleats. Makes like a shaped baseball cap effect and helps stabilize the brella against wakes and rollers.

Those side panels help in a big rain or shield more sun off of you. They do have zippered windows that let the breeze come through when it's hot. I have the regular 8'ers and they hook to the top of the umbrella.

Oh yeah, those side panels make it nice for a beach brella or for a picnic.

Took a sharp razor and wacked em off, no problem.

I put mine down and attach them to the side rails of the boat. More shade in the morning and afternoon. Also stabilizes the brella during wind/waves.
