Wish I was there to help. Had that same experience myself. It was a good learning experience. Hope all works out.
Learning experience for sure! I hope they learned a bit about the range of an outboard with a six gallon tank.
I learned mine when I had to paddle my duck boat the last half mile back up the Sunflower River in the dark after a deer hunt waaaay down river.
They put in at Madison Landing and went all the way to Browns. Then, ran out of gas at Three Prong on the way back.
They finally got a tow over to the trace and had a friend bring gas and oil.
Glad it worked out for them.
Yep! good end.
Lesson learned. Good times. They will remember today for the rest of their lives!
Been there, done that before. Had to troll all the way to the trace and get my wife to meet me with some gas. Took 2 hours
Reminds me of the time 3 of us were fishing at Jack's bay in white river nwma. Got back to the ramp and the truck battery was bad in my buds75 chevy 4x4. We borrowed some jumper cables out of a truck next to us and got it boosted. We started back down about 6 or 7 miles of gravel, got about 5 miles away and tank 1 of gas ran out. Had 2 tanks with a mechanical switch between them. By the time has started flowing the engine died. Wouldn't crank. We knew the jumper cables were back at the ramp so we walked back. When we got back to camp a truck with3 drunks pulled up and said get in they would help us. Back we went. Got back and it Wouldn't crank. Battery was too dead. They tried once or twice and then said "well, we gotta be getting back home". There we were back where we started. Possum cop came along and took us into Tichnor and we called home for help. Buddy came down and while we left his truck running off the alternator we used his battery to get started. We still laugh at the help we got from the drunks.
