Report: Chickamauga Lake crappie 6/22/2015
Four of the Chattanooga Crappie Club officers were invited to take part in a Tennessee Wildside taping for a show to be telecast later this year or in early spring next year. We paired up in two boats and had the TV guys follow us in another boat and film us as we fished docks, and deep water structure. It was fun. They stayed with us for about an hour and then switched over to the other boat.
We then fished for a while longer and got on a particular dock that had a bunch of crappie that were willing to play with us this AM. We doubled 3 different times under this dock and caught between 15-18 fish on this one dock alone. All our fish were deep today and we caught them on a variety of lures, with the BG Mo-Glo Blue Ghost being the hot lure. Outlaw Special color was fair and another plastic that was purple on top and chartreuse on the bottom was hot too. We fished with 1/32, 1/24, and 1/16 oz jigs with the plastics glued on to the collars.
All fish released to grow and get bigger. Except for one nice 12" fish that we released and after a few minutes, came back to the surface and was struggling. While it was doing that, an Osprey swooped down, grabbed it and carried it off to its nest to feed the babies. All least the fish didn't go to waste. Hope that you enjoy the pics.
