Report: Tellico Lake 6/19
Had a pretty unusual night on Tellico last night / early this morning. We fished from around dark until around 11:30. The unusual part? Although I don't have hard numbers, keepers at least equaled shorts! It has been a long time since I have witnessed that! All were caught on jigs tipped with nibbles. I don't know if Nibbles are necessary, but they give my sometimes slow reflexes a confidence boost! I used BG BS in Electric Chicken, Licorice Chartreus Pearl, and Devil's Grin (who names these things?) They were in 30-40 FOW. I cast about 30 ft, let it pendulum vertical, and then slowly reeled up. Caught them during all phases of this process, so not totally sure about depth. I still enjoy the "thump", so this is my way of fishing. Around 1:00 a.m. they really turned on, and we left 'em bitin! After 34 years of marriage, this is my and my wife's idea of a Friday night date! We kept 16 of the best ones for the skillet, rent a Red Box, and do dinner and a movie tonight!!
