I'm a pharmacist and that supports what I tell people all the time, but he added several things I had never thought of. The Dawn idea is brilliant. I also will start recommending the three step washing process. This also applies to treatment of the rash after it has started, but you have to keep washing a couple of times a day.

I use Dawn 365 days a year in the shower. I get it bad. Quit weed eating because of it. Roundup is my friend now. Got it really bad one time from a deer I helped hubby with.

I've known people who really got it bad. Even seems like it gets INSIDE of them. If they burn it and breathe the smoke, or the smoke gets in their eyes or nose, they have a reaction. Unless that's an "old wives tale"?

Vic that is not an old wives tale. Some people I know have gotten it that way.

Did you know that posion ivy is a common food for deer.....

I helped my dad tear out a bunch of poison ivy in the winter time, we burned it and he got it in his lungs and throat and eyes. put him in the hospital for a couple days.
