I tried brush last week
Terrible for crappie, ok for small perch and kitties
Pretty lame overall
Try both and stay with the one that works
Sounds like some good advice. I have been longlining for the past couple of months burning 'em up in 9'-14' of water but now they have moved. I'm thinking the oxygen level has depleted in that area and the baitfish have disappeared so I went hunting and finally found more fish in another part of the lake in 16'-20' of water. The numbers of fish caught are WAY DOWN from what Ive grown accustom to catching in the shallower waters but the quality is much better. But the key is finding them this time of the year. On my lake the bass fishermen are starting at daylight in force and the pleasure boaters and water lice gets started around 9:30-10AM so the fishing trips get shorter each time out. IMO this also makes the fish skiddish and they go to the bottom and take lockjaw. Atleast that's my excuse and I'm sticking with it.:biggrin
Ck, PM sent to you. I sort of think tight lining in deeper water would be the ticket if your not casting to brush. The day trippers here are in deep brush and doing pretty good. I hope you get into them. Good luck.
Thanks all
I also sent you a PM. Whichever way you decide to fish, I hope this helps.
Been long Lining in 20-40ft doing pretty good. Fish about 15ft down and scattered near creek channels.
Hope you get on them CK. :biggrin
