what are the fish doing on the Alabama River

I had a couple of hours to go this morning before I got rained out in Millers Ferry. I had 2 bites on a jig both good size fish they were in 3ft of water. I would have thought they were in deeper water on the river banks by now. I had no luck on river bank tops that have been successful at this time of year.

I am having no luck with the river tops also. I fish the Jones bluff section. Doing OK under some docks but a lot of small fish. The tournament guys last weekend was mostly on the river ledges. Fishing 8 to 12' deep.
