and its got 1.5 feet higher to go.:banghead:help
WOW.......
Hope all is well with you Buster. Read in the paper today it will crest this weekend. Some folks had to evacuate.
That is a sad sight.
Just heard this evening the river is at the 1990s level now and going up another foot to crest at 35.5 ft 5 ft above major flood stage
Everything that sheds into the Red is backing up
it ain't pretty
Now they're saying 36.5, and it'll take a while to go down. I drive over it every day, and I'm seeing flooding all around it. There's a pasture that had a dead cow in it, but it's since washed away. Construction site where I-49 is merging into I-220 is flooded out...their trailers are all partially under water. Even heard they might be closing the Vet's home on the Bossier parkway. I know it's a bad deal for a lot of folks....at least it isn't a flash flood, so people had some time to prepare what they could.
Bummer. I wonder if it will get worse when the Texas and Oklahoma flood control lakes open their gates. You would think they would consider the folks downstream though.
I can see why now that the Uncle Bud's cabins on Larto were built to float. That place is going to get hammered.
Well the Red is at 36.56 and has a little to go according to this prediction. I just talked to Cajun Dave and he said water is entering Shreveport in various locations. He said the apartment he used to live in has 3 foot of water in it. Some people are hurting real bad right now. I've been through that a few times and it ain't no fun.
