Lake Guntersville dock shooting report 5/30/2015
Caught a break in the rain and the work and hit the lake this morning. Shot docks in the Jackson County Park area. Water temp was 76 to 80 degrees. Water depths ranged from 7' to 16' . Launched at 6 am and fished till 10 am. The fishing got better as the sun moved up in the sky. Caught 6 crappie, a bluegill, and a rock bass. All fish came from docks standing in 7 to 10' fow. They wanted it moved pretty slow and the bite was not aggressive. Just a light thump and some pressure on the line. Color and lure was a Monkey Milk Slab Docktr on a 1/16 chartreuse jig head. May have had better luck as the sun kept getting higher and the shadows under the docks got more pronounced, but I had had enough of the sun, wind, and especially the pleasure boaters. This trip reminded me why I don't like to fish on the weekends during warm weather. All in all it was a good trip ( it has rained so much lately any trip is a good trip). Every dock that I went of had tons of fry on them. Don't know what species , but they were abundant.
