Went to the Hatch and Kissimmee. Water had to be close to 3 feet low, and the water itself was nasty. We saw more gators than fish today. Hard to longline in 5 feet of water lol.
What's the deal down there?

Yearly draw down of the lakes in the Kissimmee chain, Been doing it for as long as I can remember, In preparation for hurricane/rainy season. One thing they use to do every 4 years was they would take West lake Toho down to low pool, to the point that cars could and would drive out on the lake in areas that were normally under 6-7 feet of water.
Fishing is best in the canals during this time, depth is 6 or deeper this time of year.
Thanks, I had no idea.
Actually checked West Toho on tournament Saturday and it is 4 ft higher than
Kissimmee.
Sea Level Pool West Toho 52.8 ft
Kissimmee Pool 48.4 ft
FWC claims this is normal set up each year prior to Hurrricane season
