Bob take a picture of the transom with motor trimmed down and a shot of where they mounted the transducer for Depthfinder. Yours is a really hard question to answer without seeing what we are working with. The cavitation plate on motor should be just about level with bottom of hull.
maybe your not using your trim right

If your boat is floating in water in the picture, your motor is definitely mounted too high on the transom.
After a second look, looks like it is on a trailer.
Looks like you can only drop it down one more bolt hole.
I think you need to lower it down that one bolt hole and it might get the cavitation plate closer to the bottom of the hull and should help your problem some
Your motor is too high.......cavitation plate should be even with lowest point bottom of boat. Take it back to the dealer you bought it from and tell him to fix it.

Just saw this Bob. Looks like you might have one bolt hole to drop down and really does not appear that would get you low enough. Like G said give to them and tell them to fix it. That Diagram Scrat posted is great showing how one should be mounted.
