Bg shell cracker bed.

Found huge bed of shell crackers today. Some them are in spawning colors. Had one shell cracker that went 12 inches with tail pinched....a trophy in my book for a shell cracker in TN. Had some Gill Crackers in the mix along with a few copper nose bluegill....some in spawning colors also. Fish were caught on a Bison and a Bulldog colored Trout Magnet using SOS 2# test line. I used a 1/24 ball jig head and a Trout Magnet 1/64 jig head. The rod used was my JDM TICT Ice Cube Rockin' Drift 6' 9" UL rod with a fast tip. I did not keep count but close to 100. I had to do a lot of walking to get to these fish but needless to say it was well worth it. It was a great day of drag pulling fun!

Thanks...they won't be there long. Got to get them while the getting is good...LOL. All fish were released.

Great looking gills. Great report. I bet it was a blast

Good report!! You are fighting red ear from the bank with 2 lb test. You must have your act together. I'm not sure I could pull that off ,even with the long soft rods I use. I Like your pictures. Is SOS the brand name on that line? I'd like to try some. Thanks again for the good report.

Yeah it's trout sos line that you can buy from troutmagnet.com It's really good line that I myself use for crappie trout and bluegill a lot... You can buy like 10,000 yards for $30... It casts really far and has low memory and a good feel to it... Give it a try

Thanks for the comments guys. chaunc.....I carry that Hawg Trough with me wherever I go. It can be a pain in the rear to carry when bank fishing but If I do catch a 10 inch Gill no one can question the size. You are right about folks over guesstimating the size of Gills. I can't tell you how many folks tell me about a lake or spot full of 10 inch Gills....which are rare.....and when they take you out to that spot and you put one of their 10 inch Gills on the board they see that they are several inches off....LOL.
