Now that I have both white and green lights, what depth should the lights be under water?Last trip I had one deeper maybe 4 feet, the other about 2 feet deep, the 2 footer seemed to draw int he fish first then the lower one started working.
Any ideas?
I run my light around 24'' deep. I seem to do best with the green light but green is what I started off using so I don't use the white much unless I forget the green :)
I used to always run mine just under the surface. I never wanted a fish to wrap around them and IMO they did just as good drawing in the bait right under the surface as they did placing them deeper. Just my thoughts though...
Grady, you changing your set up? When I used my starfire's I would only go just under the surface as mentioned. You want the fish up close to the top under the bait. But with me jumping and falling on your boat you may want to go deeper. LOL I have had crappies swimming in with the bait before and caught them just under the bait many times. What kind of lights did you get?:highfive
Ron, Trying something different, I got a couple Alumiglo superbrite 1200. They were pricey but seem indestructible.
Last trip we seems to get more fish and bait under the boat. These are made out of aluminum, no glass or plastic. The clear parts where the less are must be aluminum.
Time will tell how they hold up.
I use mostly green. Got some white starfires but prefer green. Put 6 -8 inches under surface.You on the right trail on this nitestalkin thing. Experiment....Spend more money...Experiment more....Spend more money...See the pattern yet ?

Green, white, underwater, float on water, set above water, I have found that they have all worked for me at sometime or another, I guess it is a personal preference as to what works best for you and your fishing style. Just my :twocents worth:popcorn Next time we fish with the SC gang I am gonna stow away on OT's boat and see how he does it and what he uses!!! :highfive :Rofl
OT, is quite a good fisherman. He does have a few holes he can pull out the winner fish from. He is admired from a lot people. Hitching a ride would be an experience!:biggrin
