Saturday-Western Branch-35 crappie
Finally had a decent day although I have not been fishing much as this was only my 9th time out this year. In just over 3 hours I had 34 crappie with the biggest at 1lb 5oz and another at 1lb 1oz with lots at 14oz-15oz. Then I only had one more (at least it was a decent one at 1lb 1oz) over the next two hours so I headed home to cut the grass.

All were caught casting a pearl BGBS (Bobby Garland Baby Shad) 13'-15' down in deep water. I could not catch a fish vertical jigging. Pearl has always been a good color for me on the Suffolk Lakes especially on a sunny day. I didn't get on the lake until around 8:30 and with the bite shutting off around noon I guess I should get my lazy butt up earlier and get out there at sunrise next time. I showed surface water temp at 73-76 and the water was pretty clear.
