spinning reel?
Sorry for the long wind post I'v been fighting line twist on my spinning reels thought it was because I used the real small reels I got a pfluger gx7 which will hold 10 lb test line I use 6 lb stren and berkley xl after a hour or so of casting the line will start twisting in big loops. I make sure the line is on the reel right I flip the bail by hand and pull the line tight before I start to reel. I am fishing with a slip floater and small split shot because I bream fish mainly any ideals why I could be having so much trouble?

Are you putting the line on your reel the way it comes off the spool? Just to make sure, Google how to spool line onto a spinning reel and watch a couple of those videos (You Tube) and make sure you are doing it that way. I used to have that problem and found out that sometimes I put it on the reel wrong, and that's when I had the problem. Also, swivel might help keep the line from twisting while reeling the bait in. Good luck.

I've been having the same problem with 6lb stren. Never had a problem with it til last year. I've tried spooling the reel both ways, and it still happens.

spinning reel?
Get on the water and let all the line out behind the boat without any weight or lure on it and pull the line down the lake a hundred yards or so then reel it all back in. Should solve your problem unless the reel is twisting the line.

What Big River Said! I use 6 lb stren on my dock shootn rods... On a new spool, I will get a 100 yards or so from the 1st pier and just start letting line out while trolling slow. Get to pier , reel it up, and don't have many problems. You will ALWAYS and I mean Always have loop get in your line every now and then. Just look at your reel/line before every cast, and if there is a loop, get it out before casting again.
