I am also curious about your question . I would think the size of the lake would help some with that problem unless the fish are favoring a limited area .
California side has a 25 panfish limit per day not sure about the AZ side.
Believe it or not this fishery is still in it's infancy and it would be a real chore to fish these BGs, REs, and Hybrids out. The lake is too big (goggle map it) and there is an overabundance of food plus zero fishing pressure. The lake was known as a Crappie lake until the strippers decimated them - a few are still caught every once in awhile. There are Gizzard shad in the lake now so it might help take the pressure off of the shad.
The majority of the fishers target strippers and the SM & LM. Some go after the huge Cats (Blues, Channels, and Flatheads). Not a lot of people fish for Bluegill or Redear. Even the guys a Bass Tackle Master, Lake Havasu City, yawn at panfish and they have mounts of the last two world records! Stopped in to get the info for where the world records were caught. We fish the south side and the WRs come from the north side of the lake.
If you don't keep 1.5lb and 2lb+ BGs & REs - you don't eat.
A lot of Southern California lakes are experiencing the same phenomena with the larger than average REs. Our Coppers aren't too bad either....
