It's never really over, they're still there somewhere.
I was out Wednesday too and man it was tough. I took a guy's son who leaves for the Air Force Academy in late June. I figured what the heck, get him out for a little fun before duty calls. (somehow he got the impression I'm a fishing God). He's never crappie fished before and only has limited experience with catfish a few times when he was a kid. I brought minnows just in case...
1st spot we hit, I killed them last week and it was dead.
2nd spot wasn't much better but a least we got a few. Had a couple of decent fish but just not much action.
3rd & 4th spots were kind of like the 1st spot.
By now it's not looking too good, we're running out of time.
We only had about 1 1/2 hours left and I made another move to my 5th spot. Bingo it was game on, both decent size and good numbers. We did get a mix of blacks and whites. I didn't notice as many whites with eggs but we did get a few blacks that still had their tux's on and had bloody tails. I did find that strange.
Crappie do move quite a bit through out the year. They're always eager to hit ya just got to find them.
I'm hoping to get him out a few more times before he leaves next month.
Turn your seat 180-deg may help.

No God here not even a mere saint, actually more of a sinner, but anyway A friend and I fished Acton today 7:30 to 12:30 probably boated 60 fish took home 7 90% were caught along the banks, a couple guys said they were getting bigger size in deeper water. Of the 7 I cleaned I didnt see any egg sacks, a few weeks ago everyone I cleaned was full of eggs. We tryed a variety of color jigs but BG's Mo Glo pink heads with Red and silver sparkly grubs won today.
Next time out I will try 1/8th oz heads and deeper water, ive caught some of my biggest Crappie in June
Thats all good news.Im not ready to be done yet .The chore pile will just have to get a little higher.
