yes , I fished Caney about 8 years ago. we caught 7 in 2 days. they were good ones but, like you said it was tough. what about d arbonne ??? or the basin ???
The biggest bream I have ever caught in my life came out of Caddo.

Caddo was the best bream lake when I was growing up, we went there every summer to bream fish till I was in high school,
then Toledo opened and I remember the coolers full of big ole peeing bream we used to catch and the fish scalers at the marinas to clean them for 50 cents.
All we had was a 12 ft alum boat with 7 1/2 HP motor and a paddle also boat had no boat seat on seats just a board and cushion (doubled as a life preserver) to sit on
oh yeah Toledo was full of standing timber then, had to break limbs to clear a hole to fish.

Definitely Caney for chinquapins and I hear Lake Yucatan has huge bluegills.
