Hey fellas,I need some help/ advise on what's best to get rid of it. I've been fighting it for a couple months or more. I've used stuff called weed trine- d ,,,copper sulfate and another chemical.. Seems like it somewhat hurts it a wee bit,it'l change colors some but be back green in a few days. Has anyone got something that really works? Was planning on putting some of that dye in the water when I got rid of the moss:crazy:
Bearclaw is it Bladderwort or like a thin coat of pollin floating on top?
It's not just floating on top,,some is underwater,,sorta 'sponge' looking stuff
Google Bladderwort and look at pic to see if that's it. If so they will shoot a stem up and bloom a yellow or white flower. I have used the liquid 2-4-D(when flower is present) and the granular. The liquid is like 25 to $30 a gallon vs $155 to $185 for 50lb bag. I've also used some stuff called Tsunami which is a more expensive, I think $60 for a quart. Also 1 more product called Habitat which is like $300 plus for a 2 1/2 gallon jug. Out of all 3 products it took 4 weeks to see results from the Habitat which is suppose(suppose to, yeah right) to kill to the root. Tsunami, I saw plants turning brown in a day. The 2-4-D took about a week for results. I'm switching back to the 2-4-D and Tsunami, I was not satisfied with the Habitat paying that much for it. Any type of liquid poison you use don't forget to get what they call the "Spreader". This stuff will help it stick to the weed that is above the water or you can use a cheap liquid soap. The spreader is about $6 for a quart I think so I just use it. I would also look into getting some grass carp. I just bought 40 for our 5 1/2 acre pond that we live on(with 11 other houses). I've been told 15 carp per acre but hey they are not cheap! I paid $12 a piece for fish that are 8"-10" long. I hope this helps and maybe SeaRay will chime in with what they may use at his fishing club.
Sounds like duck weed to me, can be hard to get rid of, but the fish seem to like it. Not sure how to eradicate it.
Before we lost our Wildlife lake to developers, we put Tilapia in it. They eat certain type weeds, but they won't survive water temps lower than 55 degrees, but, they are good to eat. Not sure how much good they did because we lost our lake before they had time to make much difference.
I will have to ask our guys what they treated our new pond with. It cleared up pretty good.

No not duckweed, but may have to use a granular. I think we had that years ago and that's why I bought that copper-sulfate but no good. How about raking it out? I know it's a lot of work but raking it on the bank and letting it dry out for a couple of days.
