Ok so I am still kind of new to this using electric knifes to clean fish with. What does everyone do with their dull knife blades? Can or does anyone sharpen them? Or do you just throw them away when they are dull? That's what I have done in the past just throw them away and grab another new set.
Probably easier/cheaper to just toss them. They can be sharpened, but I think it's a pretty labor-intensive job.
They last Vic a long, long, long time!
I wish I knew who could sharpen, bought a new set before camp and my old blades are better???
guy over here in ks uses a tungsten rod says it works great
Well I must not know how to use one because I sure don't think the blades last very long! Is there one model that is better than the rest? What I have been using is a Mr Twister knife. I did just buy a new Berkley this spring but I have not used it yet. Or do I need to go into the kitchen and steal the one Paula uses?
Leave Paula's knife alone or you won't be able to use one:biggrin get you a set of these Shark blades. They should fit both knifes.

Knife quality is all about the speed of the motor. The twister and Berkeley have 25 amp motors. American Angler has 100 amp and is expensive. Now, go to Wally World and buy a electric carving knife in the home appliance section for less than $20. Guess what, it has a 100 amp motor in it. The Hamilton Beach brand will accept the Berkley blades. If you ever run the 25 amp motors next to the 100 amp, you'll see what I'm saying.
I have had my electric knife for three or four years now and cleaned a lot of fish with it. This year, I finally gave in and bought a new set of blades for $8 at Walmart. I'm good with tossing the old ones and spending $8 if they last several years.
