How do you turn off auto updates on your laptop/PC?
My security system won't allow auto updates, I never know when I'll have one.
I may turn my PC on any time and it's going through an update, Do not turn off your computer. So I sit 30 minutes to an hour watching it try to update.
Then I get a message, Your security system didn't allow updates, removing updates, Do not turn your PC off. So I sit for another 30 minutes to an hour watching it unload.
I don't want to unload my security because I may forget to reinstall when I turn it on.
Some where in there on the security side you should have a option to receive updates. On mine I will get a warning that alows me to decide if I want to let it load or not. Check your security to see if you can turn on that option.
I ignore all of that.......I never update anything if its working good for me like it is.
I'm with you there G. It works for me, don't fix it.
My brother bought an older PC with XP. He didn't like windows 8. Then the updates started piling on, sometimes 2 per day. Now he doesn't like how it preforms.
I said, Guess what? You now have windows 8 if you did the updates.
He's pissed.
Yeh.....well your old boat was working good too gewber lol
The bad part of ignoring it is I have to stay with the pc while it's doing the update and unload, usually an hour to 2. If I leave the pc, after a while of not doing anything on it like move the mouse it will turn off. The next time I turn it on the update starts new again.
Go to your control panel and set your PC up for manual up dates....then you can do them yourself when ever you want to. My internet is pretty fast on updates....only takes a few minutes.
