Fished lochloosa today from 9:30-2 and caught probably 10. We were trolling jigs out in open water fighting the wind. Any of you guys have any good insight on this lake? Any tips would be appreciated.

I have heard that the north end of the lake (however you define that) is a good area for crappie. Also this time last year the shell crackers were starting to bed, again at the north end, in the lily pads. I heard that grass shrimp was the preferred bait for 'crackers last year. Good luck.
Went today. Caught 12 "babies" and 2 3/4 lb. Strong wind from the NE. Air temp at 630 52*. Water temp 75*. Wind was probably 8-10 mph with gusts a little higher. It was not a productive day for me or any of the other boats we saw today. We spider rigged the front long lined and tight line the rear. Even the folks jigging were moving around alot today. Maybe this cold snap is the reason.
Thanks for the info guys. Gonna try it again this week!
thanks for the update.......how is the hydrilla from park entrance to open water ?

how about up the west side from the hour glass ?
