I went this past week and found them in the tree tops in deeper water(15=20 fow). Caught a lot of short fish and kept 5 for supper. When I got them home and cleaned them two were females with pale yellow eggs. I e-mailed Eric Cummins with KDFW and asked what he thought . He said its possible the yo-yoing water level and temps has made it a tough year on the spawn but doesn't believe they are all done yet and not to give up on the spawn. I also questioned the color and weather they were being absorbed back into the fish and he said it was a little early for that to take place just yet. Water was still cool started in the morning at 60 and at noon 62. too early to give up. I'm sure its higher now with the sunny days we've had. Good Luck.
