Patoka 4/26
Made a run down to Walls ramp on the chance it may have cleared up but found a bay full of muddy water. Decided to put in at Lick Fork where I found cleaner water and a temp less than 60 degrees. Did some cruising watching electronics for weeds in deep water close to a deep flat area. Marked a couple of likely spots even tho they did not reveal lot of fish. First spot produced lot of dinks but the second place put me in the best crappie I have had on Patoka since I started fishing it again. Not big numbers but fish were 12 to 15" of which I kept on only 2 but also had some nice gills in live well. Had a few bass in the mix with one being 18" caught on a 10' jig rod. Fish are in 8 to 13 fow in the weeds. Various colors on a jig work but it has to be slow and in the weeds, they will not chase it. That is not likely to change with all the fronts coming thru this week.

Nice report. Glad you got into some fish especially on Patoka and during this screwie spring.

Thanks for the report and willingness to share. So many on here are as tight lipped as the fish this Spring.

Patoka has been high enough all spring to keep a guy guessing, that's for sure. Thanks for the report.
